On Sunday, 21t of June 2009, whoever decided to spend their evening in Loggos, had the unique chance to enjoy really good quality music. A jazz group from Bangkog gave us an asian translation of the americal jazz tradition painted with oriental colors. The group was called POMELO TOWN –pomelo being a fruit of their country – and its members are members are music teachers from Mahidol University in Thailand. Pomelo Town’s Paxos concert and a second performance they gave in Corfu town were part of the International Music Festival of Corfu, which takes place from the 14th June to the 9th of August 2009 in various historic venues in Corfu. Co – organizers are the Music Department of the Ionian University, Corfu Prefecture and Corfu town Municipality. Paxos participated in the festival this year in two ways: one was the Pomelo town concert and the other was the unique concert of the Ergon Ensemble in the Ionian Academy Music Hall on the 4th of July.
