Just go and do!

announcement

Date: 07/10/2011

Some of you have already noticed me in a garden in Hungary, milking some Estonian and Hungarian cows or going fishing early in the morning in Greece... some of you have even shared their home, ...some of you have never seen me...one of you taught me how to make greek goat cheese...someone else taught me how to card Estonian sheepwool...someone else to make wicker baskets...to ride Czech horses, plant some Hungarian vines, paint a Greek fishingboat, organize a Czech llamatrek, milk Greek goats, feed Czech sheep, cut Hungarian grass....Most of you recognized me on a bike under the Czech rain, between the Hungarian fields or perspiring on the Greek hills...

I am from the cultural village of Mellionnec, and I took a one year break in my studies in order to go to do and to meet people. Everything succeeded!

I travelled through 4 of the villages: Kilingi-Nomme in -30°C, Bystré, Palkonya with new spring colors, and Paxos. I stayed more or less one month in each place. Everywhere, someone help me to find a farming family to welcome me in their farm, let me help them in their everyday life and offer me a bed and a full (very full!) plate. I shared the family work, family life, but I also had time to go around, skiing, visiting, playing music...

I had also a little personal project, on "how people feel and live the passing of time in the countryside". This was a way to approach very interesting and sincere conversations, a way to have a special or different eye on the life, a way to think, a way to live, a way to come back with new ideas.

Every day was new for me. Every day I learned. Every day I discovered, I met someone... And I felt like home. And, I feel that participating in the life of the farm or the village helped me to have a quick integration in the family and in the society. Of course, I also realize how lucky we are to have a strong European network of people ready to help and welcome you. Made it much easier, thanks to everybody!

I have every day a bigger and bigger family, whojust want to continue to grow. And, what I hope, what I would like to do, is to make you want to go and do. One week, one month or more; milking goats, making bread, renovating a house, organize a festival, teaching music, knit, looking after children, gardening....alone, with friends, for a school practice... Young or less young...

Just go and do!

_______________What now ?!_______________

Cultural villages of Mellionnec, me and I hope most of you, would like to concretize a cultural network of people, agree to receive someone and share their activities: go, and do! This will be an exchange of doing, against being hosted.
