Paxos Hunting Club: always trying for the best

Date: 11/03/2009
The local Hunting Club and its current board of directors has been particularly active. They have responded immediately to many findings of dead birds found all over Paxos and sent some of the corpsies for analysis. Results came out in November 2008 proving that the birds were poisoned by pesticides. The Hunting Club directors are for some time now trying to persuade locals to stop using pesticides or at least be extra careful when they are forced to use them. Also after many efforts to overcome various complicated buraucratic proceedures, the Hunting Club managed to place wooden nests in the island of St Nicholas hosting 8 ducks already and 2 geese in the near future. The nests can be seen from Gaios square. Vasilis Keikidis and Harris Sofos donated the ducks. The Hunting Club's direct goal is to help clean the island of St Nicholas from rubbish and other waste before the summer season starts.
