Dimitris Avouris, the well known story teller who vsited Paxos and worked with local children and their parents last October, is organizing a story telling and narration seminar in his village, Tragaki in the island of Zakinthos from Tuesday, 21 April to Saturday 25 April 2009. The seminar's target groups are music teachers, school teachers, actors, performers, students, kinder garden teachers, parents and in general to everyone who comes in close contact with children on a daily basis. Choosing the right stories, how to present them to children according to each different situation, difficulties that the story teller faces while narrating are some of the basic questions that mr Avouris will answer to during the seminar. Mr Avouris, a story teller and writer, with vast experience in performing in schools, childrens' hospitals will also give advice on how to approach sick children, what we can say and what we should not, what we should do and what we should avoid, how to gain their trust and attention and how to make them participate in the story. Paricipation cost includes: tuition, accommodation, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) excursions, seminar material. Participants will receive a certificate.
