The "Clean Monday" community party was organized on the 2nd of March 2009 in "Rinio" above Lakka port thanks to Katerina Argirou, president of the Council of Lakka and a group of Lakka youth. People enjoyed the special dishes of the day and danced to live music played by a Corfiot band. This Monday is very special for Orthodox people as it indicates the beginning of the 40 days fasting before Easter Sunday. Unfortunately the weather became cloudy and then rainy, cutting the celebrations short. Hopefully we will have better luck next year.
