Austrian Ambassador in Greece, Michael Linhart, inaugurated the new consulate of Austria in Corfu on the 9/12/2011. Lawyer Spyros Ioannou, was appointed Consul of Austria in Corfu. The building is located in Moustoxidou street 8. Mr Linhart presented to the new Consulate, Spiros Ioannou a copy of a letter dated 1820 from the historic archives of Vienna which was sent by Kapodistrias (then minister of external affairs of Russia) to Meternich (Then minister of external affairs in Austria) asking for a meeting of all European states to come together to discuss the problems of the “European Union” in 1820!!! Mr Linhart and his wife visited Paxos in July 2011 and spent an evening in Loggos with the young people participating in the Cultural Villages Youth camp. They had a special talk with the austrian participants from the village of Kirchheim. ...
